Nairn Business Improvement District District (BID) has been shortlisted for an inaugural national award.

It has been nominated in the climate town category of the first ever Scotland Loves Local Awards, with the winners announced later this month.

The BID has been put forward for its work with three organisations within the town – Nairn Community and Arts Centre, Green Hive and Nairn Bowling Club.

However, it will be up against Greener Kirkcaldy and LEAP in Greater Glasgow who are the two other nominees.

BID manager Lucy Harding said it was fantastic news that they had been shortlisted, adding: “Nairn BID is proud to be working with these organisations. Green Hive can help to save the energy costs of any business in Nairn.”

The awards have been organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) and chief officer Phil Prentice said: “All of our shortlisted entries stand testament to the dedication and innovation of those who make our communities great places in which to live. I can’t wait to hear more about their stories and the difference they make.”

All nominations were made by people who have seen and felt the positive impact of their work.
