Residents objecting to plans for a house on Moss-side Road in Nairn have received the support of their local community council.

The application is for a property beside a single track road. Nine objections have been received from householders on the access road to the site.

Nairn West and Suburban Community Council heard the central concern concern was that the proposed new building was large, out of scale, and

incompatible with the capacity of the local infrastructure.

The last house built at the site was constructed in the 1980s.

The design was for a very large building with six bedrooms and four parking spaces).

Members said questions were being raised that it possibly could have a commercial use as an Airbnb-type property or for sub-letting. The access road is narrow and cannot be widened and it was reported there was limited turning space for vehicles.

The CC agreed to submit an objection to Highland Council planning authority before the closing date on February 28.
