THE funfair will return to Nairn from August 9-22.

Although the Nairn Games have been cancelled for the second year running, the Showmen’s Guild successfully applied for a licence to Highland Council for the use of the Links.

Nairn councillor Tom Heggie said he was sure they would be warmly welcomed after missing last year due to the pandemic.

“They are part of the landscape of the summer in Nairn and bring a lot of pleasure to the community,” he said.

“The council was asked some time ago by the Showmen’s Guild if they could came back on their traditional fortnight and even though we have no Nairn Games this year, we were delighted to welcome them back.”

Some children’s trampolines beside the splashpad at the Nairn Links are back in use.

The trampolines were closed due to health and safety reasons by Highland Council but repairs have taken place.
