Tickets are on sale for a new Christmas show created by a new Nairn community theatre group.

After its creation this summer, the newly formed CAST group (standing for Community Acting & Singing Together) is getting ready to take on stage with their own Christmas Panto this year.

Twas The Night Before Christmas will go on show for two days on December 22 and 23 and tickets – priced at £10 are now available to purchase on the Nairn Community & Arts Centre Website.

CAST co-founder Jean Morrison, said they were delighted with the response so far.

She said: ""The response has been amazing in the town and the support is heartwarming.

"We have had positive feedback from so many in Nairn, and businesses getting behind us and will be sponsoring us.

"The Seaforth Club are giving us rehearsal space for free and rehearsals are going very well.

"We will also have a CAST stall at this year's Christmas market, where Santa will be having a post box and any child who is going to panto can post their letter and a reply from Santa will be waiting at the Community centre addressed personally to them."

A race night held recently at the Westerlea Hotel raised almost £1000 to help the production with costumes.

"Thanks to the owner Chris and Ian Finlayson who ran the whole evening. This will be an enormous boost to us for costumes and props."

CAST is the brainchild of Little Theatre veterans Jean Morrison, Karen Kemp and Dionne Monteiro, who wanted to reach out to the community with a new, inclusive group.

"From just an idea between three “thespian” friends, we have brought together an amazing Christmas extravaganza," Ms Morrison continued.

All profits raised from the show will be split between Team Hamish and Nairn County Ground Improvement Fund.

Anyone wanting to see the panto at Nairn Community Centre, tickets are available by phone 01667453476 or alternately online www.nairncc.co.uk.
