The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has relocated to new premises in Nairn.
Based in the town’s High Street for 25 years, it is now in King Street, opposite the community and arts centre.
Provost Laurie Fraser and Lord Lieutenant of Nairnshire George Asher formally opened the new offices, with other community representatives in attendance.
Manager Gill MacLean said: “The new building is not only a better environment to work in, it will also enable us to offer an even better service to local people.
“We’d like to thank people for their patience during our move, but hopefully when they visit us now they will see that it is worthwhile.”
CAB had been seeking new premises for more than 10 years in the face of ever-growing client numbers.
As part of new services on offer a new Digital HUB will allow it to support clients with activities including accessing Universal Credit journals, applying for grants and comparing prices.
A Job HUB also meets there each Tuesday while a number of drop-in sessions have also been hosted, giving energy advice.
Mr Asher said at the opening: “A lot of what is done here goes unrecognised, goes under the radar, but it is so important for the community of Nairn.”
And chairman of Citizens Advice Scotland Rory Mair described the new premises as “a really wonderful building” and said: “Every CAB should have this kind of facility and every person who comes in here will benefit from the quality of building that this is.”
The new office is open Mondays to Fridays with advice also available online at www.nairncab.org.uk or by calling 01667 456677.
