Nairn Ceilidh Group Committee has agreed proceeds from the first ceilidh of the new season will go towards humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

The ceilidh will be held on June 30 at 8pm at the Nairn Community and Arts Centre.

"We have a Ukranian family living in Nairn and every shares their grief at the suffering in their homeland," chairman Donald Wilson said.

"We are pleased to get the ceilidhs back under way after two years of cancellations due to Covid.

"We are delighted to have Inver Ross Ceilidh Band on the opening night and a talented cast of singers and dancers.

"We hope the public will turn up in force and show their support. It's very much a family event so bring the kids along."
