A Nairn care home is looking for crumbs of comfort – in the shape of donated biscuits.

Whinnieknowe home for the elderly has put out an appeal on social media encouraging members of the public to provide the tasty treats.

With the coronavirus lockdown limiting bulk-buying, staff at the Mill Road premises have been restricted in what they can give residents with their usual cuppa.

The message reads: “Whinnieknowe care home is wondering if the fantastic people of Nairn could donate some biscuits.

“Our clients are biscuit lovers, multiple times a day, and just have to have one with their tea.

“We cannot go and bulk buy a variety of different biscuits due to shopping restrictions.

“If you could donate a few packets and drop these off at the door of the home, we would have some very happy residents.”
