Police Scotland have confirmed they will be making no further statement on the recovery of a body from Nairn's West Beach on Thursday morning.
The body of an elderly man was found on the beach by a walker about 7.30am and emergency services were alerted.
The beach was cordoned off for several hours.
It was closed between Marine Cottages and the swimming pool for several hours.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Thursday, 21 July, 2022 police received a report that a body of a man had been found on the beach at Marine Road, Nairn.
“Officers attended and the death is not being treated as suspicious. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
