Drew Hendry MP has branded a proposal to cut Universal Credit by £20 per week a "disgraceful move".
In a Twitter post earlier today he said: "Some of the poorest families and the most vulnerable children in our communities are about to have household income slashed by over £1,000 a year.
"The consequences will be devastating for them."
He has urged residents to lobby their MP to reject the proposal.
