Moy Fair to return this year with new name and focus on families

AFTER a two-year hiatus, the annual Moy Fair is back, now to be known as Moy Country Fair.

The popular event takes place at Moy Estate on August 5-6, with an events programme that organisers say is 'bigger and more diverse than ever'.

The committee decided to change the name highlight the fair's focus on being a family friendly event that has a variety of entertainment to suit everyone.

Traditional main ring displays are back such as a birds of prey demonstration, pipe bands, tug of war and gundog demonstration's.

There will also be field sports including clay pigeon shooting and archery.

The RNLI will be there to give a water safety class due to the rise in popularity of paddle boarding and wild swimming.

There is also lots on for the kids too including pony rides, climbing wall and even Bubbles the clown.

Plenty of local food and drink stalls will be in attendance to keep locals going during the day.

The fair supports 15 local charities and since it began 40 years ago, it has donated £792,000 to local causes.

JP Campbell, a director on the Moy Country Fair Committee, is excited to see the event return and welcome families to have a great day out.

“The Moy Country Fair is a great way for everyone to come together in the countryside and celebrate the traditions that rural communities enjoy," he said. "After a challenging few years, we are thrilled to be able to see large events like this returning and are looking forward to welcoming many visitors as well as the many vendors and competitors in August.”
