Highland Council has literally moved the goalposts at a play park in Inverness.

The goals at Burn Brae Park in Westhill were put in place last summer on a field beside a play equipment including swings and a slide.

It has attracted complaints of antisocial behaviour with some neighbours reporting that those playing there were causing noise pollution.

However, the posts have been removed because the pitch needs time to recover.

A regular visitor to the park said: "It looks more like a swimming pool than a football pitch right now.

"Even the grass at the edges isn't draining properly."

A sign, including a council logo, states: "The goalposts have been removed to allow the grass to recover as it has become boggy and muddy.

"There are facilities to play football at nearby Maxwell Park [in Cradlehall] or at the pitches at Smithton.

"Once the field has dried out, we will make a further assessment."
