Motorists are being advised by that there will be two part-day road closures of a road south of Inverness in early September.

Highland Council has announced that the B862 at Scaniport will be partially closed on Monday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 6 between 9am to 5pm each day.

The road closures are required to carry out essential tree felling at the edge of the carriageway, adjacent to Laggan Bridge, and to ensure safe working practices for the public and site personnel.

Diversion routes will be in place for heavy goods vehicles using the main B-route network and for light vehicles using the Essich Road during these times.

The Torbreck Road and the Darris/Kinchyle/Scaniport Road will be for local access only.

Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure will be erected this week at the site and at remote junctions, giving advance notice of the closure.

Service buses and school transport will be managed through the closure along with local access only for local residents coinciding with the scheduled bus timetable, under the supervision of the contractor.

Pedestrians and cyclist access will also be provided through the shared-use path under the supervision of the contractor for safety reasons. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
