Motorcyclist hospitalised with serious injuries after crash near Auldearn

Police are investigating a collision which took place near Auldearn.

Police are appealing for information after a 30-year-old biker was seriously injured in a car crash on the B9101 between Cawdor and Auldearn last night.

The incident, which happened around 8.50pm on Wednesday, September 6 around two miles west of Auldearn involved a white Vauxhall Corsa car and a blue Suzuki GSX600 motorcycle.

Police confirmed that the 30-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment to serious injuries.

Neither the driver nor front seat passenger from the car were injured.

The road was closed until around 6am today (7 September) to allow for an investigation at the scene.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay, of the Highland & Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision is ongoing and I would urge anyone who can help to come forward.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or who saw either vehicle on the road prior to the crash.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3981 of 6 September.”
