A mother and daughter presented a variety of gifts to Raigmore Hospital after a fundraising drive.

Diane and Emmie Marshall (7), from Muirtown, responded to a plea from the Children’s Ward at Raigmore Hospital for baby monitors so staff and children could speak to parents in another room.

During the coronavirus lockdown there are strict limits on visiting.

Mrs Marshall set up a fundraising page to raise £100, but actually received £324 in total.

They then decided to buy games, colouring books and other treats for the children as well as the monitors.

“When we were in Morrisons in Inverness buying some things, the shop assistant asked me what we were buying it all for, and the staff then also donated a bag of things,” she said.

“We also managed to treat the staff to some hand cream, chocolates and NHS gingerbread men.

"It may not be much but for the staff who constantly wash their hands I know hand cream is everything.”
