AN Inverness garden centre has been named the best in Scotland once again, putting it in line for a UK award.

Simpsons Garden Centre has been awarded the best destination garden centre in Scotland title for 2019/20 by the Garden Centre Association (GCA).

That no makes it four years in a row that the Inverness company has taken the award.

The family firm also picked up three other prizes from the GCA – best restaurant, the GIMA (Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association) award for best garden products and the Barton Grange Trophy for innovation and creativity.

Its success in the Scotland-wdie awards now puts Simpsons in the running for the UK destination garden centre of the year title as well as the Ruxley Rose award for the top UK plant area and garden centre of excellence awards.

The results of these awards are set to be announced in January next year.

The awards are based on the results of annual inspections carried out by the GCA.

Managing director Andrew Simpson said they were a great incentive for the company to continue to do its best to improve year on year.

“Everyone here at Simpsons is so pleased to receive these awards,” he said.

“Our success is thanks to all of our teams across the garden centre who work so hard, individually and collaboratively, to inspire each other, and our customers on a daily basis.

“These awards not only recognise everyone’s constant and consistent drive to deliver higher standards and great customer service, but also show that we are working hard to inspire and excite our customers with great displays, quality products and innovative events throughout the year.”

Formed in 2001, Simpsons now employs more than 100 people at its premises in the Inshes area of Inverness.
