TWO high-value cars have been stolen from a dealership in Inverness last night.

It follows the theft of three vehicles from a different city dealership at the weekend.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the thefts could be linked.

Two Audi S-Line black editions – one a grey A6 estate, registration ST13 KBO, and the other an A5 in silver, registration SQ11 DKU – were stolen from Top Car in Harbour Road sometime between yesterday evening and 2.10am today.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Johnstone said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into this theft and I would urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the Harbour Road area to come forward as soon as possible.

"Similarly anyone who believes they may have seen either of the two cars described at any time since should get in touch.

"Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101, quoting reference NN4398/19, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Enquiries are also ongoing into the theft of three vehicles from Culloden Car Sales during the early hours of Sunday.

Two of the vehicles – a grey Range Rover and a white Mercedes CLA – have since been recovered in Inverness and Dundee respectively, while a third – a green Ford Focus, registration RS10 FOR – remains outstanding.

Detective Sergeant Johnstone added: "Our enquiries into both of these incidents are ongoing and we are keeping an open mind on whether they are linked.

"Given the Mercedes vehicle was recovered in Dundee, we would ask people further afield than Inverness to be vigilant and to let us know if they believe they have seen any of the outstanding vehicles.

"While these recent incidents have involved garages, it is worth reminding people to make sure your vehicle is securely locked when unattended.

"Also keep the keys out of easy reach through a door or window and do not store anything valuable in plain sight in your vehicle as this could attract opportunist thieves."
