Missing Elgin man found after Inverness police alert

A regular visitor to Inverness reported missing for a week earlier today has turned up safe and well.

This afternoon Police Scotland issued an appeal for help in tracing 66-year-old John Dow who had not been seen since leaving home in Elgin on December 21.

A police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that John Dow, 66, who had been reported missing from Elgin, has been traced safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who helped with our earlier appeal.”
