The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning across Scotland as heavy rain is expected to hit the city throughout the course of the week.

Scots have been warned of heavy rain and potential flooding, with the first of three weather warnings starting from today and expected to last until Friday, 6, October.

Six-inches of heavy rainfall is likely to fall in parts of the West Highlands.

There has been six flood alerts and one flood warning across the Highlands and Islands due to the recent down pour, however there have been no severe flood warnings issued as of yet.

The Met office have warned people that the 'heavy and persistent' rain may lead to some disruption.

Traffic Scotland have made drivers aware about the potential impact of the rain and said motorists should expect increased stopping distances, increased journey times, reduced visibility, aquaplaning and flooding.
