Inverness and a large part of the Highlands has been included in a yellow weather warning for snow and ice, issued by the Met Office.

Forecasters issued the alert for tomorrow.

A statement reads: "Showers turning increasingly wintry overnight Sunday and continuing Monday. Icy patches also expected to bring some disruption."

It suggests people should expect:

  • Some roads and railways to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
  • Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Yellow warnings for ice have been issued in other parts of Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.
