The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow and ice from 5pm today (November 29) until Friday at 11am.

Inverness and other parts of the Highlands are expected to get showers, falling as snow inland, leading to icy patches and hazardous conditions.

What to expect

  • Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
