Two men have been charged with robbing a 71-year-old man after he stopped his van in a quiet residential area of Inverness.

The men aged 18 and 23 were arrested following an incident in the Merlewood Road area around 9am on Tuesday, 19 December, 2023.

Police said the man "was stopped in his van and robbed near to the junction with Drummond Crescent."

The men arrested and charged were due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today Wednesday, 20 December, 2023, added a Police Scotland spokesman.

Merlewood Road is a tree shrouded, steep, narrow lane linking Drummond

Road with Drummond Crescent.
