A MEETING to discuss the future of Nairn Pipe Band has been called after concerns over its failure to attend public events since the lifting of Covid restrictions.

Bob Towns, president of the Royal British Legion in Nairn where the band practices, said: “After the disappointment of not having a pipe band for the Remembrance Parade last year I am keen to assist in any way possible to ensure that the pipe band could support the Legion at remembrance and that they could also play at the other main Nairn-based events in the future.”

The band appeared at the Nairn Highland Games on August 20 but has made no other appearances since the start of Covid. The meeting will take place at the Legion on September 14 at 7pm.
