The A82 remains closed in both directions south of Fort Augustus as work to clear fallen trees continues.

• Storm Gerrit winds fell trees and force closure of A82 south of Loch Ness

The route has been blocked since yesterday afternoon following ferocious winds from Storm Gerrit.

Glad to be able to pass my thanks to officers on the scene for work done by the emergency services and also grateful to @NWTrunkRoads today on A82.

Traffic Scotland is advising motorists to use an alternative route.
