A 46-year-old Peterhead man returned to a Nairn supermarket three times on the same day to steal bottles of wine.

Alan Campbell, of Longate, took the items from Sainsbury's on August 14 last year.

He admitted the thefts at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Defence solicitor advocate Neil Wilson told Sheriff Robert Frazer: "He now has an address in Aberdeen and is trying to stay out of trouble. He was going through an unfortunate time with alcohol."

The sheriff deferred sentence for good behaviour until January 11.
