Man to appear in court after £60,000 drug seizure in Inverness city centre

DRUGS with an estimated street value of £60,000 were seized by police in Inverness today.

A 29-year-old man is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court tomorrow after a search warrant warrant was carried out this afternoon.

"Officers from the Highland and Islands Division Community Investigation Unit carried out a misuse of drugs search warrant today at a property in Inverness city centre, recovering Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £60,000," said a police spokeswoman.

"A 29 year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Anyone with concerns relating to drugs in their local community is encouraged to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
