A sheriff will decide on Christmas Eve whether an Inverness man can be placed on a drug treatment testing order (DTTO).

Inverness Sheriff Court heard previously how Benjamin Clark (21) of MacGillivray Court, Inverness, became abusive towards police officers called to a disturbance at the city’s Maclean Court on October 12 last year.

En route to Burnett Road police station he threatened to bite officers’ faces and kill their children.

While in a cell at the police station he also smeared faeces on the walls.

The court was told he underwent the first stage of DTTO assessment while in custody and stage two would take place while he was at liberty.

Sheriff Chris Dickson granted him bail and ordered him to return to court on December 24 for sentencing.
