Sentence has been deferred for reports on a man who sent offensive and threatening messages.

Ellis Williams (20) appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court where he admitted sending the communications on November 10 this year while on John Street, Nairn.

He also admitted being in the possession of cocaine when he was searched at Burnett Road police station, Inverness, on the following day.

Williams, of Wester Lochloy, Nairn, had his sentence deferred for the preparation of background reports until January 26.

His bail was continued meantime.
