A man has been fined £400 and banned from driving for 10 months after confessing to being involved in a car accident.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Sam MacGuire (25), of Clachan Road, Ardersier, told police about having been involved in the accident on Friday, June 12.

Appearing in court from custody he admitted careless driving in Dalfaber Drive and driving without insurance.

The court heard he drove at excessive speed, clipped a kerb and lost control of his Audi 3 which ended up on the wrong side of the carriageway.
