Man charged after A9 crash in Badenoch

Police Scotland have confirmed that a man has been charged following yesterday afternoon's three-vehicle crash at Raliabeg on the A9.

The accident left a pensioner with serious injuries and caused a six-hour closure of the trunk road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a three car crash on the A9 southbound near the Ralia junction by Newtonmore at around 12.45pm yesterday (Thursday).

“Emergency services attended and a 69-year-old woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

“Three men, aged 80, 55, and 38, were treated for minor injuries at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“A 53-year-old man, the driver of one of the vehicles, has been arrested and charged in connection and due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.”
