Man (36) charged following incident on Friars Bridge in Inverness

Police and fire units were called to Friars Bridge in Inverness after there was concern for a man in the area.

The incident occurred around 10pm on Monday on the crossing over the River Ness. Traffic was disrupted for a time.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were in attendance to assist the police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10pm on Monday, 24 April, 2023, police were called to Friars Bridge in Inverness, following concern for a man.

"The 36-year-old man was traced safely and conveyed to hospital for assessment.

"He was subsequently charged in connection with a breach of the peace and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
