Man arrested and charged following serious assault in Inverness
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Inverness which left another man in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police had appealed for information after the assault at a property in Gilbert Street on Monday afternoon.
Following the attack a large police presence descended on the scene, with numerous police vehicles, officers and police dogs spotted in and around the immediate area.

Officers later urged motorists to come forward who may have dashcam footage of the suspect before or after the attack, which occurred at around 2.25pm.
And, in a fresh update, on Wednesday morning, officers confirmed a man had been arrested, and is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said: "Following our previous appeal regarding a serious assault which took place in Gilbert Street, Inverness on Monday, January 15... a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident and is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 18.
"The public are thanked for their assistance."
