A man has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court accused of dangerous driving.

Joshua Quartey (22) made no plea to the main charge when he appeared today (Wednesday).

He also made no plea to charges of driving with no insurance or licence, failing to stop for police, attempting to pervert the course of justice and a breach of bail.

Police said his vehicle was stopped on the city's Harbour Road near the railway bridge close to Millburn Road after being involved in a collision with other vehicles. No one was injured, a Police Scotland spokesman said.

Quartey, from Leicester, was committed for further examination and released on bail.
