A 51-year-old man who admitted assaulting both a woman and a teenage boy at a Nairn caravan park has been ordered to participate in a programme to address abuse by men.

Andrew McMillan, of High Claggan, Tongland, Kirkcudbright is also set to be placed under the supervision of social workers for the next two years.

Sentence had been deferred on McMillan who previously appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court where he admitted the two separate offences which occurred on May 28 this year.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood was told that McMillan had attempted to repeatedly punch the boy and punched the woman on the head.

His assault on her caused her to fall to the ground, as a result of which she sustained an injury to one of her ears, the court was told.
