IF you fancy a bit of magic in your lives then The Magical Woodland family event beside Cannich could have you spellbound.

Rosie and Alex Hazleton who live with their two young daughters in Crochail woods are aware that the past 18 months has been difficult for everyone, and children in particular have missed out on events that would normally be part of their daily lives.

The couple are always grateful for the space where they live and where their children can freely play so to give a much needed spark of magic and joy for the children in the area they are staging The Magical Woodland on September 18 and 19.

It is a performance involving everything from elves, fairies and nymphs to story-telling, music and dance.

The children and their families are on a secret mission to help find the fairies treasure.

And on their adventure through the woodland they're entertained (at three different outdoor performance spaces) by a host of enchanting elves and fairies.

Led by their fairy guide on a magical mystery tour in an open glade, the children can make their own wands and learn spells to unravel the mystery.

Aimed at children aged 5-10 years and their families, but open to all, the group will be moving around the woodland tracks as the adventure unfolds. So it's important to feel comfortable walking on uneven ground in a forestry setting.

The Magical Woodland will host a group of brilliant performers to help set the perfect scene. This includes storytellers, actors and musicians to make this something special to remember for all.

There is a maximum of 40 tickets per performance, and the audience will be split into two groups, meaning that social distancing will be easy to maintain if needed throughout.

Each performance space will be covered by a canvas awning just in case of bad weather.

There's on site parking and each performance will be just under two hours, with four performances over the course of the weekend.

The site is just outside the village of Cannich at Higher Crochail.
