MacGregor's bar in Inverness named as Scotland's best pub

An Inverness bar has been named as Scotland's best pub in the glitzy 2023 Thistle Awards.

The black tie event was at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre last night.

MacGregor's bar, in Academy Street, won the Best Bar or Pub award which was sponsored by the Scottish Licensed Trade Association

In 2019 MacGregor’s was awarded Best Music Bar in Scotland award.

A spokesman said: "This has been, without doubt, the most challenging period for hospitality. However, that adversity highlighted the strength and the importance of community.

"The world wide support we’ve had for our bar and the concepts behind it, the shared passion for Scotland’s music, culture, food and drink, have given us great hope for the future."

The awards showcased the very best of Scotland’s tourism sector and the individuals who work in the industry.
