The Highland Wedding Fair saw dozens of hardy folk brave the elements and flock to the Macdonald Aviemore Resort in Aviemore to view the best on offer for soon-to-be married couples – and the mother-in-laws too.

The resort dubbed the event "a day for you made by us" and it certainly delivered after kicking off at noon today and culminated in a catwalk show showcasing the expertise, services and creations of the very best wedding specialists and suppliers from across the Highlands and beyond.

The models started walking down the runway at 2pm and featured not just bridal gowns but also dresses for the mother of the bride or the groom and provided plenty of inspiration for any couple’s big day.

Speaking ahead of the event, Francesca McArthur-Robinson of the venue’s special events’ team, said it was not just a chance to showcase bridal wear but also Aviemore itself as a majestic wedding venue amid the Cairngorms.

“We are looking forward to the Wedding Fair on Sunday and can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors," she said.

“Here at Aviemore we can be overlooked as a wedding venue, but we have so much to offer here. Sunday will be a great way for us to show what we offer and with the local lochs nearby it’ll be hard for everyone to miss how beautiful it is here.”

Whether you have your heart set on a big family affair or something more intimate with your partner and those closest to you and for those wishing but unable to attend there will be more online tomorrow with a full rundown of what is available.

The exhibitors attending the fair included:

Fitlike photography, Highland wedding film, The Electric Cherries, Murray Travel, The Hitching Post, Flying Scotsman, Kirsteen’s Kollection, Cocktail Den, The Loch Ness Piper, Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, ATB Jewellery, Ceamara Photography, KBE events, Aye Do Events, La-di-da Fashion, Opalily Bridal, Bridal hair by natasha, Highland Classic Car Hire, The Highland Florist, Style My Day
