Three neighbours in Inverness are celebrating after they each scooped a £1000 cash prize thanks to their lucky postcode.

They each netted the windfall when IV2 7UG was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery today.

Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his congratulations to the winners and said: “This is such a brilliant surprise for our winners, and it couldn’t come at a better time of year. I hope this prize helps with the Christmas shopping.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have so far raised more than £500 million for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by Save the Children which has received over £7.6 million in funding from the players of the lottery. It supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds and helps them stay healthy, safe and in education. Save the Children works in more than 100 countries, including the UK, to protect children from disease and hunger while giving them the best care possible.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefited from players support, and the next opportunity local charities will have to apply for funding will be early next year.
