Loganair have welcomed the suspension of strikes planned for Highland airports next week and will resume flights as soon as it "practical to do so".
The response comes after strikes planned at Inverness Airport next week were put on hold, following an enhanced pay offer to trade unions from airport bosses.
Highlands and Islands Airports (HIAL) announced yesterday (Thursday March 9) that trade unions, PCS, Prospect and Unite positively received the new offer which will now go to ballot with their members.
Last week, Loganair responded to strike action by temporarily suspending its flights on routes from Inverness to Stornoway and Benbecula and from Inverness to Kirkwall and Sumburgh.
The airline now plan to resume flights with a further update to follow the outcome of the members' ballot.
A spokesperson for Loganair said: “We warmly welcome this positive step forward in negotiations between HIAL airports and their unions.
“Loganair aims to resume services from Inverness to Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Stornoway and Benbecula as soon as it is practical to do so and we will issue further updates in due course in line with the ballot outcome.”
