COMMUNITY groups from across Scotland met in Fort Augustus to discuss ways to help people in their areas alleviate fuel poverty.
Representatives from community benefit trusts and energy co-ops gathered for the annual Falck Renewables Sustainable Communities Forum which brought together people from around Falck’s 12 wind farms.
The forum was introduced by Ian Leaver, chief executive of Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company, who told of improvements they have made to the building, and outlined the projects delivered over the past five years using funding from local wind farms.
Erin Murchie, Falck Renewables community liaison manager, said: “After two years holding our forum online it was great to be back in person to share experiences, discuss ways of overcoming challenges and get practical advice from our speakers.”
Speakers from Inverness, Badenoch and Strathspey Citizens Advice Bureau explained available schemes to help people with their energy costs and needs and the National Lottery Community Fund about accessing match funding for projects.
