THE A82 at Drumnadrochit is closed following a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The road was partially blocked in both directions following the incident which was around 1.15pm this afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said officers were sent to the scene following reports of a serious road traffic collision.

It is not known if the pedestrian was seriously injured but the road remained closed between Drumnadrochit and Inverness at 3.45pm.

Motorists were being advised to take a 26.5 mile diversion via the A831, A833 and the A862.
