Loch Ness ranks in top 3 most Insta-worthy landmarks in the UK according to a recent survey

A HIGHLAND beauty spot was named the third most Instagrammable UK landmark according to a new research.

According to a new survey from comparethemarket.com, one of Scotland's most well-known lochs is among the 20 most Instagrammed UK landmarks outside of London, ranking after Stonehenge and Glencoe.

Posts marked with #lochness were counted at 460,017, following closely the numbers for Glencoe – 501,182 – and Stonehenge with 831,860.

The list was compiled by the company in sight of summer holidays approaching and Brits being on the lookout for their next staycation destination, as well as search interest in β€˜landmarks to visit’ peaking in the UK at the beginning of May. The data was sourced via Google Search Trends.

Ben Nevis also featured in the list, with 233,424 total posts.

Recently, Inverness was named as one of Europe's must visit destinations for 2022 by a Time Out guide.
