Local organisations receive boost from Co-op Community Funds

NEARLY £11,000 has been disbursed to local organisations by the Nairn Co-op Community Fund.

At a recent hand-over cheques were presented to Nairn Kayak Club, the 1st Nairn Scout Group and Nairn Hydrotherapy Pool

Nairn Co-op Pioneer Amanda McIntyre said the Kayak Club which has a base at Nairn harbour received £3253 towards coaching young people to improve confidence and improve well-being.

1st Nairn Scout Group receives £3506 to provide uniforms and activities for young people who may miss out due to cost of living and the current economic challenges.

Nairn Hydrotherapy Pool was given £4029 to install a pool cover to help reduce energy cost.

The pool which is a charitable trust provides inclusive classes to the local and wider community.

Amanda said:

"The community groups were truly thankful and overwhelmed at the generosity of Coop Member customers who raise nearly £11000 for this year's chosen community groups.
