TWO Inverness branches of a pharmacy chain will reduce their opening hours in the next two weeks in a bid to tackle prescriptions backlogs.

NHS Highland said in a post on Facebook that they have received notice from Lloyds Pharmacy that due to staff shortages their Greig Street and Riverside stores they are currently experiencing operational challenges.

The Greig Street Store will be open from 9am until 1pm and the Riverside branch will operate between 2pm and 6pm each day for the next two weeks.

People will be able to change their preferred pharmacy for collecting prescriptions by notifying their GP surgery or the local pharmacy they wish to use in order for them to update their records.

Members of staff on site will also be able to assist if custumers wish to take to another pharmacy if their prescription is in one of the pharmacies affected by the changes.
