A Liverpudlian drug dealer was jailed for six months after admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine in Inverness.

Callum Hadley of Denecliff, Pool Hey, Stockbridge Village appeared from remand by video link at Inverness Sheriff Court after previously also pleading guilty to possession of cannabis in Culduthel Road, Inverness on October 28.

Fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh told Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood that police were on patrol in Castle Heather Drive, Inverness when they saw Hadley with another man on February 14.

"On seeing the police vehicle, Hadley made off," she said.

"But he was caught, searched and police found £510 in cash and 20 wraps of cocaine, each weighing 0.17 grams and with a total value of £400."

The three grams of cannabis he had in his possession had a value of £60, the court heard.

Defence solicitor Willie Young said: "He was not in a great place at the time and associating with people who had a negative influence on him.

"He was using cannabis to a great degree and became involved in supply to fund his heavy addiction."

Jailing the 24 year old for six months, backdated to October 30 when he was first remanded, Sheriff Fleetwood told him: "If you choose to involve yourself in the supply of drugs, then you must bear the consequences."
