Members of Everlast Gym in Inverness have received news that the popular establishment will close on April 7.

In December last year a planning application to build a new bowling alley at Inverness Shopping Park was approved by councillors by the narrowest of margins. Members of the South Planning Committee were equally split on plans to convert the Everlast Gym and Sports Direct outlet at the retail park into a ten-pin bowling centre and indoor inflatable activity course.

This came after members and staff of Everlast Gym staged a peaceful protest in front of Highland Council in a last bid to save the gym, which many called "a lifeline service".

However, now the days of the gym are numbered with the place set to close in just under four weeks.

Over the last few months the team at Everlast Gym have been committed to their members and providing help to the community through charity events.
