VOLUNTEERS helping to keep a Black Isle lifeboat crew afloat have hailed the generosity of the public after registering their best ever festive shopping centre fundraising drive.

RNLI Kessock Lifeboat traditionally sells Christmas cards, gifts and souvenirs at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in the run-up to the festive break.

It has hauled in over £4300 from sales of cards and gifts and souvenirs and cash donations of over £750 on top of that.

It posted: "Wow! We know that finances are tight for everyone, and that there are so many deserving charities, so we really do mean a heartfelt THANK YOU!!! Your support is lifesaving."

Gillian Hier added: "Well done to all the stall volunteers x".
