PLANNING a wedding is one of the most exciting times in life but we could all use a little help in turning the big day into a dream come true!

One of the Highland’s best loved wedding venues, the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, Inverness can provide all the inspiration you will need at its wedding fayre on Sunday, July 24.

From noon until 3pm and located in the stunning Drumossie Suite, there will be a host of exhibitors who will be delighted to talk through your big day plans. Black Isle Love Lights is bringing its spectacular light installations which make a fantastic backdrop for photos, and Dream Events by Sarah can set the perfect scene for your day with stunning decorations including romantic cherry blossom trees as you exchange your vows. Still looking for “the one?” The dress of course, not your intended! There will be a fabulous fashion show at 1.30pm, hosted by VSO Models UK, Inverness showcasing beautiful bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride/groom ensembles, gorgeous occasion wear for guests, and fantastic kilts for the boys.

Sara Campbell Therapies will be giving a bridal make-up tutorial and there will also be a competition to have Sara do your make-up on your wedding day. Visitors will also have the chance to win a sumptuous afternoon tea with bubbles for two at Drumossie.

Couples will be able to see just what makes Drumossie the perfect venue for your big day. There will be beautiful wedding tables set up just as they would be for the ceremony and reception, and Drumossie events manager Anna Smith will be on hand to give mini-tours of the hotel, stunning grounds and guest rooms.

“We’re going to be able to show what the Drumossie is like in the summer, it’s so beautiful, especially with the option of using our grounds”, said Anna.

With stunning grounds for an outdoor wedding, a choice of beautiful reception rooms for lavish or intimate ceremonies, 44 deluxe bedrooms, exceptional catering and the Highlands’ biggest dancefloor, it is no surprise Drumossie is a favourite wedding venue. “Our full attention is on your special day. The Drumossie Suite is so private, so it’s just you and your guests, and it’s always flooded with natural light. We can plan everything for you – your chair covers, your linen, centrepieces – they’re all included within our packages.”

Anna urged all brides-to-be to visit Sunday’s fayre to get that first spark of inspiration for their big day.

“It’s a special time for you and your partner, or you and your mum to start the wedding planning and also see the dresses.

“It’s a great starting point to understand what kind of wedding you’re looking for.”
