UK and leading Scottish law firm Brodies LLP have announced today that they are moving their Highlands office to Inverness, following strong client activity across the region.

Brodies will move to Clava House at Cradlehall Business Park from its previous premises in Dingwall Business Park, which opened in 2017.

The firm will occupy the building alongside Johnston Carmichael with the move taking place in August.

The Inverness office will be Brodies' third investment in its premises in 12 months; the firm opened its London office last summer and moved to its brand-new Edinburgh office at Capital Square in early 2022.

Nick Stott, Brodies’ Managing Director, said: "Moving our Highlands office to Inverness follows strong client activity across the region and continued growth of our locally-based team.”

“Our new premises are modern and bright, providing an excellent space for our colleagues and clients to meet and work with each other in the Highland capital, in the years ahead.”

Brodies also confirms the promotion of Highlands-based family and child law specialist Sarah Lilley to partner.

Having joined the firm in 2020, Ms Lilley has over 14 years' experience in family and child law, ten of which have been spent working with clients in and around Inverness.

She is the only lawyer north of Aberdeen to hold three accreditations from the Law Society of Scotland in child law, family law and family mediation.

Across the business, Brodies also announced a further six new partners, a legal director and two associates among its latest round of internal promotions, adding further strength to its client services in the areas of family law, land and rural business, projects, tax, charities, insurance and risk, and property disputes.

Mr Scott, said: “I congratulate Sarah and her fellow colleagues and wish them all the best in their new roles."

He added: "These latest investments in our people and our offices are reflective of the objectives that we set ourselves in our 2021 – 2024 strategic plans; to provide our clients with relevant, quality legal advice, and to deliver it in a way that would best facilitate collaboration, conversation and the sharing of knowledge.

"The diverse range of commercial opportunities that the Highlands and Islands presents for clients means that the region is seeing strong domestic and inward investment. Our new office, together with our team of lawyers based across the mainland, Skye, Shetland and Orkney, will enable us to continue supporting clients and their instructions across the length and breadth of the Highlands and Islands, wherever they are located."

UK law firm Brodies LLP is the largest law firm headquartered in Scotland measured by income, directory rankings, and lawyer numbers.
