Law firm Brodies has added to its growing Highlands and Islands team with appointments in its commercial property and private client practices.

Nicola Grant takes on the role of legal director in commercial real estate, while associate Alison Reid joins the firm's private client team to advise individuals and families on personal matters.

Having originally trained and worked with Brodies in the firm's Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, Nicola has 13 years' experience in commercial property matters. She advises landlords and tenants on commercial leasing, and acts in the acquisition and sale of properties across a range of industries, including hotels, retail and leisure, and offices.

Alison is a qualified trusts and estates practitioner, and advises clients on estate planning, wills, executries and powers of attorney. With over 20 years' experience across property and private client law, she specialises in wills, trusts and the administration of complex, high-value estates.

Both lawyers will be based at Brodies' Inverness office at Cradlehall Business Park.

Brodies' Inverness-based partner Karren Smith said: "Our locally-based team continues to grow in line with the demands that we are seeing from clients across the Highlands and Islands in both commercial and personal matters. Nicola and Alison have considerable knowledge of the local market; their respective expertise in commercial property and personal matters for individuals will be of considerable value to businesses, individuals and families."
