With the Highland Business Awards taking place at the end of this month, it is now time to announce the guest speaker.

Organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce, the awards are a chance to recognise those who have made strides in business over the last 12 months.

Taking place at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on September 30, the awards are shaping up to be a treat for all attending.

Stephen Leckie, president of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, chairman of the Scottish Tourism Alliance and chairman of and chief executive of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels is to be the keynote speaker at the event.

Mr Leckie is the fifth generation of his family to run the Crieff Hydro hotel and estate since the doors opened on Scotland’s maiden hydropathic establishment in 1868.

The company is now the oldest trading registered company in Scotland.

This will be a unique opportunity to hear from Mr Leckie about the strength of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce network and the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in Scotland.

Stewart Nicol, chief executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’m delighted that Stephen is joining us at this year’s Highland Business Awards.

“Given Stephen’s leadership of the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels over many years and his appointment as president of Scottish Chambers of Commerce a year ago, he has a wealth of experience and critical perspective to share with our guests.

“I’m also looking forward to his insight on the challenges facing businesses and the role governments have to play.

“I have no doubt Stephen will also emphasise the critical role businesses play in our communities and the fantastic opportunities they offer to staff at all levels.”

Tickets for the awards lunch are priced at £65.00 + VAT per person, and may be booked individually or for tables of 10.

The event will run from noon-4pm and the ticket price includes a welcome drink and three-course lunch with tea or coffee.
